Marcelina
born 1997, sire: Bolino dam: Maika (v. First Class II – Wembley – Tiro), Austrian Warmblood, chestnut
Marcelina was sold by her breeders Rosa and Fritz Hamminger as a foal. For over 20 years, the stud of the Hamminger family has been existing and has raised countless premium foals and succesful sport horses at the Bundeschampionat.
Marcelina became an impressive broodmare who resembles her father Bolino very closely. Bolino’s father is the legendary Bolero. He proved his qualities on the international dressage stage under Christine Stückelberger
Bolero was a true Stempelhengst, who was registered in 1977 and then mainly active in Hannover. His dam Baroness was a great Half-Thoroughbred by Bleep xx, who was rented by the State Stud of Celle from his owner Georg Vorwerk. Baroness’s mother, Atlastaube, gave birth to Atlanta (sire: Valentino xx), who herself bore the famous Hanoverian stallion
Grenadier. Even the legendary son of Hitchcock-Sohn, Hill Hawk xx is a grand-son of Baroness’s. This bloodline is being continued at the the Neumann-Ullrich-stud, embodied by our Laura
(by Lungau – Hill Hawk xx) and her daughter La Tourette (by Londonderry – Lungau), Reserve Champion of the Lower Austrian Mare Inspection 2005.
Bolero’s offspring have contributed to a renaissance of this stallion – just think of high class dressage horses as Brentina by Brentano II in the USA, team gold medal winner Bonaparte by Bon Bonaparte under Heike Kemmer and the Bolero-son Beauvalais (rider: Beatrice
Ferrer-Salat) in Spain.
Even Poetin, the sadly short lived jewel of Brandenburg breeding was a relative to Bolero.
2005 was the year of Marcelina’s offspring, as three of her former foals were nominated for the Bundeschampionat and did quite well.
Marcelina’s offspring and their achievements:

- Dream Dancer by Dream of Glory, born 2001: This stallion qualified for the licencing show in Munich. He was then sold as a sport horse to Heinrich Geyer and up to know has been doing quite well at dressage tournaments.
- Marie Antoinette by Lou Bega, born 2002: This mare is owned by Josef Ehn jun. and qualified as a three-year-old for the Bundeschampionat under Markus Nowotny. In 2006 she became Reserve Champion of the licencing show in St. Pölten (mark: 8,06). This expressive mare has exceptional conformation and dynamic movements with clear upward tendency.
- Mayflower by Dressage Royal, born 2003: This great black mare was sold as a foal to Dr. Claus-Michael Hellmich, where she will prove her qualities as a broodmare, once she has succeeded in the dressage arena. As a foal she was qualified for the Bundeschampionat. In 2007 she was the winner of the stud performance test in Stadl-Paura.
- My Fair Lady by Rubin Magic, born 2004: This lovely mare has only recently found new owners and will certainly live up to their expectations.
- Ricciamo RH by Riccione, born 2005: This brown, very typical colt was ranked fourth at the Bundeschampionat. He was bought by the Römerhof stud and might probably become a licenced stallion. We keep our fingers crossed for this extraordinary prospect.
- Rialto by Riccione, born 2006: The brown brother of Ricciamo RH was presented at the foal inspection 2006 and impressed the judges with his beautiful gaits.
