The Droste family celebrated great efforts with Lady Lu’s dam, the Premium mare St.Pr.St. Wendica. A brother of Wendica’s, Labracon was sold at the auction in Ankum for the record sum of DM 650.000,–. Lady Lu's sire Lungau is the legendary son of Lugano II who is a close relative to the great Thoroughbred Der Löwe xx. Lungau has had some kind of renaissance during the past years: Two horses at the Olympic Games 2004 in Athens, namely the medal winning Salinero (by Salieri/Lungau, rider: Anky van Grunsven, NED) and the highly successful mare Brentina (by Brentano II/Lungau). Barclay (by Brentano II/Lungau) and Seven Up (Salieri/Lungau) can also be found at the very top level of international dressage and show jumping competitions. Lady Lu herself won as a two-year-old at the breeders’ show in Badbergen. Her first foal, Herzdame by Hochadel, a black pearl, was sold at the elite auction in Verden.
