Bay Oldenburg Mare by Donnerhall out of Annabelle (Prince Thatch xx – Akzent I – Eisenherz II) , born 1999

This is one of the last daughters of the legendary Donnerhall who was bred by fresh semen transfer at the Grönwaldhof. Her dam is a daughter of the famous Thoroughbred Prince Thatch xx, who was active at the State Stud of Celle and became one of the best Thoroughbreds in dressage horse breeding ever. A further bloodline leads via Akzent to the famous Trakehne stallion Absatz.

Eisenherz who is a relative to Eiger (Esprit) is also a part of Dornroeschen’s pedigree – a pure Hanoverian stem.

Donnerhall used to be the most successful dressage stallion in the world and looks back to an exceptional career. Like no other he united breeding and sporting success. In 1986 he became DLG-Champion in Hannover. Under his continuous rider Karin Rehbein he became German Champion in 1994, then Team World Champion and Tem European Champion and Bronze Medal Winner at Verden. In 1998 he was a member of the gold medal winning team in Rome. Twice he was proclaimed Oldenburg Dressage Stallion of the Year, before he was retired at the age of 17, still fit and shiny and with a huge crowd cheering.

A whole book could be written about all the exceptional horses he sired. His genes stand for quality and performance at the highest level.

Prince Thatch xx was, besides Lauries Crusador, the only Thoroughbred to write breeding history as a dominant dressage stallion who also excelled at the rideability and at improving the type. Both at competitions and at Mare Performance Tests his offspring please with their dressage talents.

This makes Dornroeschen a jewel which is very precious to us. The viewer is impressed by her beautiful face, her charming manners and her attentive, intellingent eye. She loves to please at Shows and amazingly embodies the genetic combination of her fathers.

Her first foal, a filly by Abanos exceeded all out expectations. Beauty, movements with steady upwards dynamics and a gorgeous character – what could you ask for more?
